Rene Kabagamba

Rene Kabagamba graduated from the University of Rwanda, the college of Science and Technology with a B.S. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering in 2012 and received a M.S degree in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University Africa in june 2017.

He worked in the telecom sector at a time when his country was starting the exercise of SIM cards registration as part of a regional integration agenda. He is currently a Artificial Intelligence Engineer at Pivot Access Ltd, a payment solution company in Kigali, Rwanda and he is part of the few engineers in his country taking advantage of machine learning techniques to extract value from the huge number of daily transactions processed by his company.

He is also co-lead of the facebook developer circle in Kigali where they are working to bring local developers together to provide software solutions to some of the challenges in their society  while inspiring and helping the youth to learn to code.​
