Introduction
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is organizing  a virtual workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Environmental Efficiency on 09 December 2020 from 14h00 to 16h00 (CET).

The workshop will explore environmental efficiency in the age of AI, increasing automation, and smart manufacturing. Join the workshop for keynote presentations and interactive sessions to discuss the environmental efficiency of emerging technologies and their potential to contribute to climate action as part of global efforts to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The workshop will also highlight practical tools to evaluate environmental aspects of emerging technologies and discuss the role to be played by international standardization in supporting the expansion of this toolkit.

The workshop discussions will feed into the second meeting of the Focus Group on environmental efficiency for AI and other emerging technologies (FG-AI4EE), 10 December 2020. Participation in  both the workshop and the Focus Group meting is open to all interested parties and free of charge.
