Phillip Havens holds both an BSEE and MSEE degree and has achieved Senior Member status within the IEEE organization. He has served in many industry standards organizations including Committee Chair of ATIS STEP NEP for three terms, Past Committee Chair of TIA TR41.9 (this group oversaw industry adoption of the USA FCC Part 68 document into TIA 968-B), IEC 37A/B subcommittee member, IEEE PSES TSTC committee member, IEEE PES SPDC committee member, member of UL 497 Standard Technical Panel, ATIS PEG board member, , UL 60950 STP member, member of GR-1089 Issue 6 re-write committee, and current ITU SG5 Q4 Rapporteur and SG5 Vice-Chairman. He has worked in the telcom industry since the days of Western Electric, dating back to 1980.
