Session 1: Academia and ITU-T – Alliance for innovation in ICTs standards

Master of Ceremony: Toby Johnson, Senior Communications Officer, Workshops and Promotion Division, ITU-T

Objectives: This session will focus on the new membership category as well as other ITU-T initiatives to engage academia including Kaleidoscope academic conferences. The aim is to encourage the participation of academia in ITU’s standardization work.

Objectives: ITU-T Academia will share their experience in joining the ITU Standardization Sector and will provide case studies showing how ITU membership has benefited their institutions.

Objectives: This interactive session will see the participation of the audience, ITU-T Academia, and ITU-T staff. The discussion will focus on how to better engage academia in the work of ITU-T. As outcomes, new proposals on additional benefits for ITU-T Academia will be drafted.
