About COP Case Studies
This platform hosts a variety of case studies providing detailed information on policies, best practices, as well as other actions and processes that the broader ICT Industry has implemented to ensure that children enjoy the benefits of the digital technology within a safe online environment.
This case study platform is an extended component of the
Guidelines for Industry on Child Online Protection, as these were updated by ITU, UNICEF and the
COP Initiative partners. Following the structure of the document, this website includes case studies from the different ICT Industry sectors, focusing on
five key areas, where action for protecting and promoting children's rights is vital:
- Integrating child rights considerations into all appropriate corporate policies and management processes
- Developing standard processes to handle child sexual abuse material
- Creating a safer and age-appropriate online environment
- Educating children, parents and teachers about children's safety and their responsible use of ICTs
- Promoting digital technology as a mode for increasing civic engagement
As the ICT Industry evolves at a fast pace and new technologies emerge, this platform will continue to be updated to reflect the relevant changes and developments. Should you have an interesting case study to share, please
