ICT GIRLS DAY 2016: Lecture about the importance of career and education in ICT

On the occasion of the International Day of Girls in ICT, Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications, organized a lecture about the benefits and importance of information and communication technologies and did a verification of ICT skills according to ECDL standard in the gymnasium "Tanasije Pejatović" in Pljevlja.

Vesna Simonović, from the Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications, spoke on the lecture about the importance of education and careers in the IT sector, as well as about women, form the last century, that had influenced information technology.

"The students of the first and third grade of Gymnasium check their computer skills through the combined test according to ECDL standard and these tests are insight into their knowledge of IT.", said Julija Đurašković, authorized ECDL examiner from Čikom.

Ministry for Information Society and Telecommunications, traditionally celebrates International Day of Girls in ICT on April 28, together with the member countries of the International Telecommunication Union.

International day of girls in ICT is celebrated with the aim of raising awareness among girls about the importance of information and communication technologies, in order to encourage girls to think about a career in the sector of information and communication technologies.
