Technology and Gaming Hub

The Tech and Gaming hub at the Generation Connect Global Youth Summit was a fun, interactive space to engage and learn with technology. Located on the 2nd Floor of the Intare Conference Centre, participants joined for unique Virtual Reality experiences in the Metaverse with the Exponential Destiny team – or to take part on the EY Data Challenge game. Participants joining virtually, had the opportunity to build a virtual robot with the First Global Roboco Challenge.

Station 1 – EY

Learn, win and be inspired on the EY STEM App!

Dive into the world of technology, digital, or the mysteries of science, and win exciting prizes!

The EY STEM App is an innovative gamified mobile platform that aims to identify, inspire, and empower the next generation of female leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math to create a more equal future. Participants will be entered into a raffle to win cool prizes at the Youth Summit!

 

Station 2 & 3 – Exponential Destiny

Step into the metaverse!

Experience fun and interactive activities around the Metaverse with Exponential Destiny!

Participants rotate between stations [including an outside area] in about 5-to-10-minute slots. The stations had visual and interactive and participatory activities such as LiDAR scanning, VR headsets, drones and more.

Physical and virtual participants of the Generation Connect Global Youth Summit were invited to learn about an amazing prize competition open to all and compete to win up to $30,000: Metaverse for SDGs Global Prize & VR Competition! By: organizing a team of 2–6 people, Selecting an SDG they are passionate about, and GET IN IT TO WIN IT!

 

Fully Virtual Option – FIRST Global

Build a virtual robot in the FIRST Global RoboCo Challenge!

Individually or in teams participants had limited time access to the sandbox game, RoboCo to design and build virtual robots, by visiting https://first.global/roboco from 1 June 2022 to play.

Experience an exciting new digital robotics game that broadens access to this vital and future-facing form of STEM project-based learning. Through open-ended sandbox play and brain-teasing challenges, RoboCo aims to provide a stunning virtual adventure that improves STEM attitudes and aptitudes for students, complements and augments physical robotics, and intertwines with emerging trends like scholastic eSports.
