With an innovative poverty alleviation model, China Mobile was one of this year’s WSIS Prizes Winners during the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2018 at ITU in Geneva, Switzerland.

Due to the success of the prize-winning initiatives, Executive Vice President of China Mobile, Huidi Li, said in a recent interview that the telco giant is planning to roll out the projects in a wider range of areas in China to ensure that more impoverished people benefit. He added that the projects could be implemented in other countries in the region.

“Moving forward, China Mobile will dedicate more resources in these efforts, working together with stakeholders to build an intelligent and digital society by using new technologies such as 5G, IoT, big data, cloud computing and AI.” – Huidi Li, Executive Vice President, China Mobile

In addition, Mr. Li said China Mobile, an ITU Gold Member, is committed to making proactive contributions to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 — and to build a shared future for mankind.
