Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and ICT: Mid-term review of the Samoa Pathway

Mobile broadband coverage in the SIDS has risen from 50 per cent of the population to 85 per cent and the price of 500 megabits of mobile data has virtually halved, falling from 15 per cent of gross national income (GNI) per capita to 8 per cent. Overall, SIDS are largely on track to achieve universality and affordability targets for Internet access by 2020. This document reviews progress made in addressing the priorities of SIDS through implementation of the SIDS Accelerated Modalities of Action (SAMOA) Pathway.
