ITU Journal shares new research on network orchestration and security

The latest issue of the ITU Journal on Future and Evolving Technologies features research on network orchestration and security for 5G and beyond, sharing insights on advances in network intelligence and automation helping to meet rapidly evolving service demands.

The ITU Journal – free of charge to both readers and contributors – offers comprehensive coverage of communications and networking. The online journal welcomes research submissions on all relevant topics, all year long.

The new issue explores advances in network orchestration associated with automation, network virtualization and slicing, and fog and edge computing. It also considers AI-driven approaches to security in view of growing network complexity.

Further issues of the ITU Journal in 2023 will address:

  • Metaverse: Communications, networking and computing
  • Intelligent technologies for future networking and distributed systems

Opportunities for research communities

Along with research articles, the online ITU Journal includes recorded webinar discussions with researchers and industry leaders. At the next webinar on 4 July, Alex Sinclair, Chief Technology Officer at GSMA, will guide a global tour of innovative 5G applications and benefits they can bring to business and society. The talk will also explore research challenges for 5G evolution and innovation towards 6G.

ITU Academia membership is another key avenue for academics to engage in the work of ITU. Academia members participate in ITU expert groups responsible for radiocommunication, standardization, and development, strengthening the work of ITU work as well as the impact of their own research.
