Digital health is in the spotlight; the ongoing coronavirus pandemic has demonstrated the importance of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and new technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain and next-generation wireless communications, in providing urgent health information to urban, rural, remote and unconnected parts of the globe.

This report examines some of the most topical and important issues countries face on the topic of Digital health today, including the role and impact of new technologies, standardization, social acceptance and human resource development for Digital health. It includes guidelines to support the development of Digital health to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being, based on real-life case studies from ITU-D members around the world which show how Digital health is a driver for change in the field of healthcare.
