Connect2Recover Projects in the Americas


In the Americas, a regional study was carried out for the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) on harmonization of the telecommunications and ICT frameworks in line with the Caribbean’s digital agenda and economy. 

In Haiti, in the aftermath of the earthquake, an assessment of damage and resilience was commissioned to assist Haiti to rebuild its telecommunications infrastructure and sector that is more resilient to natural hazards in accordance with WTDC Resolution 60. A Workshop on Resilience Assessment of Telecom Networks and Infrastructure in Haiti which was organised with CONATEL was successfully conducted on 10 August 2023. The workshop was attended by 44 participants representing the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communication, the Ministry of ICT, CONATEL, operators, ISPs, IXP, the broadcasters’ association, police, and the army.

In Grenada, a resilience assessment to strengthen telecommunications/ICT infrastructure for economic recovery and development is underway.
