CyberDrill in Venezuela equips experts with essential cybersecurity readiness
A recent cybersecurity training and CyberDrill in Caracas, Venezuela, delivered specialized training to cybersecurity experts, enhancing their preparedness to effectively respond to diverse and emerging cyber threats through practical simulations and group problem-solving, helping them to test and improve their skills and capabilities to handle cybersecurity incidents.
The event was jointly organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the National Commission of Information Technologies (CONATI) and the Superintendency of Electronic Certification Services (SUSCERTE) at the kind invitation of the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
Each scenario evaluated the preparedness and resilience of Venezuela’s cybersecurity incident response teams, from malware attacks to network breaches. The simulations served to enhance the response capacities of participants, thus building teamwork and advancing coordinated measures to tackle cybersecurity challenges.
In addition to enhancing individual abilities, the event promoted greater unity and cooperation across Venezuela’s cybersecurity community.
The event also served as a platform to assess the strength of their policies, plans, procedures, processes, and capabilities, which enable preparation, prevention, response, recovery, and continuity of operations.
Furthermore, the occasion provided an opportunity to analyze the national cybersecurity action plans and share best practices to safeguard critical infrastructure and bolster cybersecurity measures in the country.
