• The ITU and USTTI training series on “Technologies, Strategies and Policies to Connect the Unconnected: Empowering Women Leaders to Bridge Digital Divides and Promote Inclusive Connectivity” was launched and rolled out.
  • Her Digital Skills, a movement launched by EY, ITU, W4 and GSMA, aims to have 1 million women and girls ready for a career in STEM by 2026.
  • UN Women, ITC and ITU also pledged a collective commitment to increase the visibility business and digital skills, mentoring and networking opportunities for 10,000 women leaders and entrepreneurs in the tech sector by 2026.
  • The Equals in Tech Awards received 154 nominations from 56 countries. The Awards ceremony took place in December.
  • In 2022, a policy handbook on how to mainstream gender in digital policies will be published. EQUALS activities on the ground will be implemented in 10 countries.
