Key Insights

Building on the ongoing success of the Smart Villages and Smart Islands initiative, the first pilot Smart Village in the Asia and the Pacific Region was launched in Gokina, Pakistan.

A GovStack SandBox was made available as a demo environment for digital services using the GovStack building blocks approach. 16 countries worked on different use case implementations: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Djibouti, Egypt, Gambia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Laos, Lesotho, Moldova, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Somalia, Togo, Ukraine, and Vanuatu.

The GovStack Women in GovTech Challenge 2023-2024, tailored for women in government digital teams, was launched. Participants received specialized training and guided support to develop their own digital services that can be implemented in their countries.

The 10th annual mRamadan campaign was launched in Senegal as part of the ITU-WHO initiative, Be He@lthy Be Mobile. Designed to provide practical health and nutritional guidance to people living with diabetes during Ramadan, the campaign has benefitted hundreds of thousands of people in one of the most populous countries in West Africa.
