This standard defines a forward error correction technique for the carriage of High Bit Rate real-time media over IP networks. In order to transmit high definition endoscopic video outside the operating room, it is recommended to use such a mechanism to ensure the correctness of the signals carried over IP networks as described in 7.2.2 of F.Med-UHD.
