Summary:

In consideration of the application demands of telecommunication facilities, it is recommended to establish a new work item K.rcd for the specifications and tests of residual current operated protective device with automatic re-closing switch for the instructions on their selection and application.
It must be noticed that the residual current protection performance of residual current operated protective device with automatic re-closing switch must meet the requirements of IEC60755 and related national standards.
RCD for DC power supply are not considered in this work item.
The points below are the main technical aspects which should be taken into account.
a. Basic ability of RCD for residual current protection;
b. Auto re-closing ability;
c. Safety allowed re-closing-times and time limits;
d. Basic lightning resistibility.
