Summary: Agricultural monitoring equipment based on artificial intelligence can monitor crop growth, pests and diseases more effectively. However, traditional IVS and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV)- IVS have the following challenges: (1) Traditional IVS in agriculture is often referred to as frame-based or pillar-based IVS, which requires a large number of cameras, is costly and not easy to cover the entire area; (2) For UAV-IVS, mechanical failures may occur during the low altitude inspection operations, leading to crashes; (3) Currently, the UAV-IVS inspection technology has not yet reached the level of adhering to the surface of crops for inspection; (4) Neither the traditional IVS or UAV-IVS can collect the complete information of one of the crops. In order to comprehensively and meticulously monitor the condition of each crop, some companies have developed agricultural autonomous car intelligent surveillance. However, these farm intelligent inspection systems are mostly based on single vehicle and single task, cannot fully leverage the advantages of artificial intelligence. This Recommendation defines the requirements and functional architecture machine-vision-based farm intelligent inspection system to solve the current problem of multiple companies' and universities' innovation but lack of a unified standard architecture, and to promote the application landing of academic research results in practical application scenarios.
