Summary: Cloud computing and edge computing have evolved rapidly in recent years, and the combination of both, known as cloud-edge collaboration, offers the advantage of integrating the resources and capabilities of both sides to achieve more efficient management and optimization. However, with the increasing demand for real-time applications and the rapid growth in the number of edge nodes and devices, there are challenges in achieving real-time processing, low latency, and reasonable resource utilization rates at system level. This has led to a need for QoS assurance requirements and framework to help guarantee the quality of service of the cloud-edge-device collaborative computing system. This New Work Item is going to propose QoS assurance requirements and framework for cloud-edge-device collaborative computing system. It includes the QoS assurance requirements and framework at system level on application collaboration, service collaboration, and resource collaboration regarding networking. The requirements and framework are designed to benefit a wide range of stakeholders in the cloud-edge-device collaborative computing field, including developers, operators, users, and researchers. It will help to promote QoS assurance and provide guidance for QoS testing processes in various application scenarios.
