Abstract :

In accordance with the instruction by ITU Member States in Resolution 102 of the 2018 ITU Plenipotentiary Conference, the ITU Secretary-General is pleased to transmit the following documents, as a package, to the Secretary-General of the United Nations. 1. ITU Secretary-General's Reports (Document C21/33 and Document C20/33) to the 2021 session of ITU Council summarizing the Union's activities related to its Internet-related Resolutions i.e. Plenipotentiary Resolution 101 (Rev. Dubai, 2018), "Internet Protocol-based Networks"; Resolution 102 (Rev. Dubai, 2018), "ITU's role with regard to international public policy issues pertaining to the Internet and the management of Internet resources, including domain names and addresses"; Resolution 133 (Rev. Dubai, 2018), "Roles of administrations of Member States in the management of Internationalized (multilingual) domain names"; and Resolution 180 (Rev. Dubai, 2018), "Facilitating the transition from IPv4 to IPv6". It also includes activities related to Resolution 206 (Dubai, 2018), "OTTs". These Reports were noted by ITU Council Member States through correspondence pursuant to the 2021 Virtual Consultation of Councillors (C21/VCC-1), held from 8 to 18 June 2021. (Please note that as per Plenipotentiary Decision 14 (Busan, 2014), the inclusion of hyperlinks in the Reports does not imply implicit approval of the content of the hyperlink's target.) 2. The official ITU Summary Record of the related verbal discussions among ITU Council Member States on Documents C21/33 and C20/33 during C21/VCC-1 (See Annex 1).
