João Noronha is the Head of the Statistics and Market Research unit at ANACOM, the Portuguese telecoms regulator, where he has been working since 1995.

He has over 20 years’ experience on regulation, market analysis and data collection and analysis in the telecoms field. He is the chair of ITU’s Expert Group on Telecom/ICT’s indicators, where he has also led the work of the sub-groups on “international bandwidth indicators” and “fixed network coverage indicators”. He has been involved in the international project teams that are studying data collection methodologies for the IoT and OTT’s.

Mr. Noronha studied economics, financial analysis and political science at Lisbon’s Catholic University and ISEG.
