Giulio Caperna is a Policy Analyst in the Italian site of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, JRC, in Ispra, where he works on methodological development and statistical assessment of Composite Indicators as a member of the Competence Centre on Composite Indicators and Scoreboards.

He has experience in the development of Composite Indicators based on quantitative and ordinal data, and he is strongly involved in the process of Composite Indicators’ Auditing.

After obtaining his PhD in Statistical Science at the University of Padova in Italy, he continued his research on Composite Indicators as a Post-Doc. He holds a master degree in Social Statistics and Demography from “Sapienza” University of Rome.
