Alana Gorospe Ramos is Chief of Plans and Policy Monitoring and Evaluation of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Philippines. Ms. Ramos oversees ICT data production and consolidation in support of the DICT policy agenda for the ICT sector. Her group is pioneering the conduct of the first Philippine National ICT Household Survey, dedicated solely to ICT indicators and aligned with the ITU Core Household indicators.

Prior to the DICT, Ms. Ramos was Head of Research of the Philippine Social Science Council overseeing the conduct of social science research and national surveys, the latter with the National Statistics Office. Ms. Ramos has done consulting work with the ADB, CIDA, as well as with government agencies and consulting firms on ICT and knowledge management. Ms. Ramos is a Lecturer at the University of the Philippines, handling courses on the information society and the development impact of ICTs in rural communities.

Ms. Ramos has a BA in Anthropology from the University of the Philippines.
