Svetlana Andries is Programme Specialist in UN Women Moldova Country Office. Svetlana joined UN Women in September 2015 as Programme Manager of the joint UN Women - UNDP Programme Women in Politics and since 2018, Svetlana held the position of the Programme Coordinator on Women in Leadership Area, Governance including Women in Peace and Security. Prior to UN Women, Svetlana acted as Head of Division for International Relations and Investments within the Ministry of Regional Development and Constructions of the Republic of Moldova for more than six years. Svetlana was member of the national committees on joint border management, diaspora and migration, on GEF Small Grants Programme, Joint Monitoring Committee of CBC projects, EU Strategy for Danube region, donor group on energy and national project assessor. She also has extensive programme coordination experience in NGOs where she implemented projects funded by EU, including CBC, World Bank, Polish aid, Nordic donors, German Government and Millennium Challenge Corporation. She has several publications among which manual/Guide for LPAs on project cycle management and practical guide for LPAs on Cost- benefit analysis of large-scale infrastructure projects. Svetlana holds Master’s degree in Business Administration and University degree in Economics and Law. Svetlana also completed postgraduate studies in the area of security and national defense, diplomacy at the Vienna Diplomatic Academy and has finalized doctoral studies in Public Administration.
