| The 8th ITU Economic Experts Roundtable convened to take stock further on the role of public policy, regulation and public sector participation in the post-COVID digital world focusing on: - What are the implications of the growing importance of the digital economy for regulatory models, frameworks, and institutions? and - Should governments continue playing a role in the ownership and management of ICT infrastructure or should privatization and spin-off of public assets be emphasized? Each session started with a 'fire-starter' intervention highlighting key issues relevant to the session that are debated in the economic expert community. The final summary report from this Experts Roundtable will be available soon. |
