Description of the event
|
An half day event to sensitize vulnerable adolescent girls from very poor slums in Bangalore, Karnataka, on ICT applications to upgrade their skills in technology. The program shall introduce them to various aspects through which they would be able to use technology to advance their interests. It shall also introduce STEAM education, briefly.And as these girls, are usually dropped out of school, working or are involved on domestic services, they have little access and knowledge related to the use of technology to further enhance their livelihoods. Since the lockdown, a few girls have access to smart phones (40% of the girls in each of the 20 slums). Hence sensitizing the girls to invest in smart phones to make optimum use of it is a challenge. However, the importance of ICT and STEM education (for younger girls) shall be introduced for further discussions on implementation.
