Title International Research, Development and Testing Centre for new equipment, technologies, and services (IRDTC) - Phase 1
Description The ITU World Telecommunication Development Conference (Buenos Aires, 2017) stipulated five priority areas of work for ITU in the CIS region under the CIS Regional Initiatives (CIS RI). CIS RI 5 titled “Fostering innovative solutions and partnership for the implementation of Internet of Things technologies and their interaction in telecommunication networks, including 4G, IMT-2020, and next-generation networks, in the interests of sustainable development”. This Project aims to establish an International Research, Development and Testing Centre for ITU Member States and ITU Sector Members (IRDTC), to arrange for and conduct studies and tests for new equipment, processes, services, and standardization work, and to build and promote regional capacity through the development of relevant regulatory, policy, and technical documents, hands-on workshops and educational programmes Centre.

Achievements

The project was successfully implemented: the IRDTC was established; Laboratory and tests were developed, equipment installed, moreover, the project was strengthened by the second phase (with more funding from the partner)
