Title National CIRT Establishment in Uganda
Description The main goal of the project is to assist Uganda to establish its national CIRT (Computer Incident Response Team), to serve as a trusted, central coordination point of contact for cybersecurity, aimed at identifying, defending, responding and managing cyber threats.

ITU will also assist Uganda in building and deploying technical capabilities by delivering training aimed at supporting the country’s effort in the establishment of a national CIRT. The project will strengthen national cybersecurity capacity and will also enhance national coordination as well as regional and international cooperation.

Achievements

The objective of this project was to assist Uganda to establish its national Computer Incident Response Team(CIRT) to serve as a trusted central coordination point of contact for cybersecurity, aimed at identifying, defending, responding and managing cyber threats.
The project was fully implemented and as a result of this project national CIRT has been established in the beneficiary country. In addition, training and customization services have also been provided to ensure good functioning of the national CIRT. The project improved overall capacity of the beneficiary country against cyber-threats.
