#STEMintheCity is a public event promoted by the Regional Ministries of Digital Technologies, Civic Services, Education and Instruction, Labour, Productive industries, Commerce and Human Resources of the Municipality of Milan.

The project is run over the month of April, culminating with a three days event, from the 27 to the 29 of April, in concurrence with the «Girls in ICT Day» promoted by ITU (28^th of April).

The objective of #STEMintheCity is to promote and spread technology and scientific subjects, proposing to children, girls and women in Milan a large number of activities, among which we find training sessions, workshops, seminars, round tables, conferences, hackatons, mentoring sessions, companies guided tours, mindfulness activities.

The project started with an opening event with important guests from the world of academia, media, entrepreneurship and institutions, and was structured on a rich schedule of meetings physically involving the whole city, from the centre to the outskirts, using the spaces made available by the Municipality, schools and universities.

Education activities are divided in four areas:

Technical & Coding – to acquire knowledge and digital competencies, from basic to advanced notions;

Soft Skills & Personal Branding – to teach girls to understand their potential and to express themselves also in environments usually dominated by men;

Digital and Social Marketing – to learn how to exploit the web efficiently, in a professional or a personal context;

Jobs & Careers – reserved for grads and recent graduated women, to offer them the right tools to find real job opportunities.
