Stelpur og tækni (Girls in ICT Day)

On April 30 2017 came around 400 fifteen years old girls to Reykjavik University to celebrate Girls in ICT Day.

The day was organised by Reykjavik University, Ský and SI.

The girls started in workshops in Reykjavik University and then they went to visit tech companies.  Female role models showed them around in the companies and talked to them about diversity that working in tech companies is.  The companies where:  Eimskip, Icelandair, CCP, LS Retail, Landsvirkjun, Advania, Síminn, Íslandsbanki, Marel, Microsoft, Reiknistofa bankanna, Valitor, Össur, Syndis, Vodafone, Opin Kerfi og Meniga.

In May Reykjavik University visited around Iceland and gave girls not living in Reykjavik the oppertunity to take part. There where 170 girls that took part in Akureyri, 37 in Ísafjörður and 24 in the east part of Iceland
