This year, we are planning to organise a workshop focusing on the importance of young girls having role models to pursue a STEM-related career and how to use the innovative edge technologies.
Moderator:
- Julie Depraz, serial entrepreneur and a board member of Empowerment Lab.
Panelists:
- Andrea Delannoy, Founder & President at MOD-ELLE, will talk about the importance of role models and how to tackle gender stereotypes in career aspirations for young people.
- Jonathan Andrew, Ph.D in Data Protection and Privacy Law, Research Fellow at the Geneva Academy focuses on intersection of digital technology and human rights. Jonathan will talk about how young people perceive the online world and what are the opportunities and threats.
- Nyree Oman, 18 years old student at International School and Empowerment Lab community member.
- Marija Musja, human rights advocate and founder of Empowerment Lab. Marija, will present Girls Tech Playground “Career Plan” Video Channel of Interviews with female models dedicated to spark girls’ natural interest and raise girls’ confidence to study computer science.
- Yasmin Dias Guichot, Senior Associate at High Lantern Group and Empowerment Lab Role Model. Yasmin, will talk about her experience of being a role model and key message for girls interested in science.
