A High-Level Dialogue

The 60-minute high-level political dialogue will provide an invaluable opportunity for policymakers to explore new ways to engage and reach their communities and audiences around child protection online. 

Led by a representative from the sports environment active in the field of children’s rights, the objective of this session is to allow a tailored conversation on national or global efforts related to child online protection and sports among policymakers leading in the fields of ICTs to examine innovative approaches to leverage on the power of sports to increase children's online safety knowledge and skills. The dialogue aims to provide a platform for meaningful discussions and the exchange of ideas on how to address the challenges faced by children in the digital world.

The event will provide a unique opportunity to demonstrate the importance of collaboration and partnership between policymakers, sports organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure online safety of children. Ultimately, the objective of the event is to inspire action and foster positive change in the digital world, ensuring that children have a safe and secure environment to play, learn and grow.

H.E Dr Emilija Stojmenova Duh
H.E Dr Emilija Stojmenova Duh Minister of Digital Transformation, Slovenia Ministry of Digital Transformation, Slovenia

Dr Emilija Stojmenova Duh is the Minister of Digital Transformation of Slovenia. Prior to holding this position, she was the Executive Director of the Digital Innovation Hub Slovenia (2018-2019) and was the Director of RAZ:UM (2014-2016). She has coordinated several national and international research and development projects on the use of new digital technologies for innovation in and the development of cities, villages and communities. She has worked in several thematic groups of the European Commission on the topic of digital innovation hubs and rural development. She participates in an international team of researchers that has developed the SEROI+ methodology for measuring and monitoring the societal, economic and environmental return on investment of digital products and services. She has authored and co-authored a number of scientific and professional publications concerning digital transformation and is an Associate Professor for the Department of Information and Communication Technologies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana. She was the first President of IEEE’s "Women in Engineering Slovenia". She is also the first Slovenian woman representative at the Global Young Academy and a member of the European Research Area Working Group within ALLEA – All European Academies. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Informatics of the University of Maribor.


Ms. Alaa AlFaadhel General Manager for Initiatives and Partnerships National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA), Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Alaa is the General Manager for Initiatives and Partnerships at the National Cybersecurity Authority (NCA). She actively contributed to the development of key initiatives and partnerships at national and international levels centered around cyber resilience and socio-economic aspects of Cyberspace. Alaa graduated from Stanford Business School, executive programs for Leadership (LEAD), she received her Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from King Saud University and her Master’s degree in Cybersecurity from Prince Sultan University. Prior to joining NCA, Alaa worked for 4 years at the Commission for Space and Technology (CST)


Marie-Laure Lemineur Head of Safeguarding and Child Protection, Social Responsibility and Education Division FIFA Moderator

Marie-Laure Lemineur has more than two decades of experience in the field of human rights education and the protection of children from abuse and exploitation online and offline, with roles in Central America, Asia and Europe. She has authored and co-authored several publications. She also served on a number of international advisory entities and boards.

A law graduate from the University of Jean Moulin, Lyon, France, Marie-Laure earned a Master’s in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex, UK. She has worked as a consultant and in management positions, among others, for the Council of Europe Youth Centre Budapest, UNICEF Costa Rica, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and several NGOs.

From 2014 until the end of 2020 before joining FIFA, Marie-laure worked for the Bangkok-based ECPAT International Secretariat, serving as its Deputy Executive Director for Global Programmes the last two years and prior to that, within the same organisation as the Head of the department focused on combating online child sexual exploitation. In December 2021 Marie-laure became the Head of the Safeguarding and Child Protection Department within FIFA’s Education and Social Responsibility Division. The main objective of the department is to support the 211 FIFA member associations around the world in strengthening safeguarding measures across its football activities.
