FAINANCE for GOOD

Session 153

Wednesday, 29 May 2024 09:00–09:45 (UTC+02:00) Physical (on-site) and Virtual (remote) participation Room 11+12, CICG, 2nd Floor ICTs and Emerging Technologies Interactive Session

Re-Thinking the Role of Money in the Age of AI

The pressing question is: what can we do today to fully realize AI's potential to create fAInance for Good? By exploring these opportunities and embracing innovation, we can create a financial system that supports global prosperity and a more sustainable development for all. A humanoid robot will be one of the panellists!

The role of the world’s monetary system and financial investments are crucial for achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)se goals. Harnessing the immense potential of AI can help build a better pecuniary and economic system for the future.

Many of us remember a time when digital services didn't exist: no online accounts, no credit cards, no internet banking, no blockchain-based cryptocurrencies. The internet and the digital evolution transformed the finance industry drastically, and AI promises an even greater revolution.

AI can provide access to financial services for underprivileged populations; it can promote sustainable and ethical investments, prevent fraud and corruption, and enhance transparency and reliability. Through predictive analytics, decision-making processes can be optimized, not just in fields like credit scoring, algorithmic trading, or insurance. Decentralized finance (DeFi), microloans, crowdfunding, crowdlending, smart contracts, and a crypto-based economy can further optimize the commercial system. Dynamic taxation and automated regulations will help stabilize the economy, leading towards global AI-improved crisis management. Personalized credit models, dynamic interest rates, autonomous investment agents, AI-empowered chatbots and voicebots, AI-driven mentoring, and AI-supported financial education will simplify and enhance the world of finance for everyone. Overall, this vision aims for a more intelligent, sustainable, inclusive and ethical financial ecosystem.
