Information System on Consumer Prices (SIPC) - URUGUAY


Description

The Information System of Consumer Prices (SIPC) is a geo-referenced database of prices for articles of everyday consumption of Uruguayan households which is updated fortnightly and can be accessed from different devices. Collect retail prices nationwide and neighborhood fairs in Montevideo.
It is used by: (a) the citizens to make better purchasing decisions; (b) the Ministry of Finance to decide price agreements with the private sector; (c) the media and researchers to inform and study the variation in prices; (d) apps developers and (e) for the same trades for comparative analysis. Surveys have revealed a greater than 80% satisfaction by service users.
