Tele-education in 1000 rural Government Schools

Description

A large scale action research has been initiated in November 2014 wherein tele-education classes are run in 1000 rural Government schools in Karnataka, India. A hybrid model of satellite and terrestrial communication has been developed to provide interactive classes in all the schools in a cost effective manner. The interactive classes helps students to get their doubts clarified towards the end of the class from a studio teacher or moderators. Animation used in the classes helps to clarify the concepts and has generated substantial interest among both students and school teachers. The Karnataka Government has now decided to double the number of program receiving schools next academic year.
