ConectaRSE para Crecer

Description

“ConectaRSE para Crecer” (Connecting to grow) program highlights the benefits of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) to promote the development of rural areas in Peru. CPC started as a corporate social responsibility program of Telefónica del Perú, but it aims to be a movement in which the public, private and civil sector, gradually become drivers of ICTs power to reduce social gaps.

It includes three strategic lines: i) CPC Award, which recognizes successful experiences of ICTs uses in education, health, e-government and productive projects, ii) a digital platform: space for academic, public and private actors to share knowledge around ICTs rural experiences, and iii) the promotion of rural entrepreneurship: includes national workshops to promote the visibility and replication of good practices in ICTs use.

Since 2011, CPC has received 844 applications from the 24 Peruvian regions related to experiences of fruitful use of ICTs in rural areas. Likewise, it has recognized 59 projects that have received funding and training to improve their results and sustainability.
