Created in 2011 from the Technological Center of Minas Gerais, CETEC, a state public foundation, CIT SENAI FIEMG inherits the history of research development focused on the industry. The Center is also born with the challenge of expanding industrial service both in Minas Gerais and Brazil and is committed to developing innovation and cutting-edge technology in partnership with universities and other national and international research centers.

In May 2011, the FIEMG signed the Cooperation Agreement with the Government of Minas Gerais for the establishment of a Technological Center of reference in the state from the state Technological Center already in existence since 1972, the CETEC.
