Open Data Library

Description

Based on the Ministry of Educations concern with monitoring developments in different educational fields and following an analysis of the educational indicators in line with the sustainable development plans, the Ministry designed Open Data Library at the Oman Educational Portal to provide an enabling provision for proactive and open access to the Ministry data. It offers data of public and private schools, students and classes, teachers and administrators, special education, literacy and adults' education. The data can be freely accessed, reused, modified and shared. It can be also utilized by any organization, such as corporations, universities, NGOs, startups, charities, community groups and individuals.
The value of MOE Open Data is to increase collaboration. When MOE provides the Open Data to the public via free electronic download, researchers and developers are quick to develop value-added researches and studies, which in turn fueled education growth in Oman.
The MOE Open Data aims to increase transparency. It gives users an informative view of education status, through an analysis of its inputs and outcomes. Also, it contributes in increasing community e-participation for it enables users to follow up as well as to give their feedback about the educational indicators and its development in Oman.
