Leadership training

Description

WiDE-Women in the Digital Ecosystem is a program that offers workshops for women to create awareness of the non-technical careers demanded by the digital economy and the opportunities available to pursue them. Our goal is to advance gender equality in the digital ecosystem, with a holistic and rights-driven approach. To fulfill its mission, WIDE offers support for professional development, conducts research and carries out advocacy activities in order to contribute to the full participation of women in the digital economy. We believe that gender mainstreaming should be a priority for the tech industry but also for other spaces and institutions that deal frequently with tech issues like specialized academia, media, government, civil society and more. To advance gender inclusion, WIDE carries out different activities such as meetings, discussions and networking events for women.

Replicability

We have developed in one year the same workshop in three different Argentinian provinces. Overall, the project has successfully managed to increase awareness on the importance of gender equality in the technology sector, the inclusion of a gender mainstreaming as a priority for the tech policies, as well as the vast range of non-technical careers, demanded by the digital economy. We have been asked to perform the workshops in several locations within the country, as a consequence, we are eager to make this project sustainable finding more sponsors to enable us to expand the number of projects and impact in other provinces of Argentina.

WSIS values promotion

By promoting a safe space for networking, sharing strategies and joint methodologies in the technology sector.
