As part of the modernization of national education and public health sectors in order to strengthen and enlarge humandevelopment through telecommunication technologies/ICTs, to satisfy the population’s growing needs and guaranteethese services availability nationwide, mainly in the remote areas and/or isolated ones, a programme has been adopted and initiated aiming at interconnecting all the 4000 public health institutions, as well as all the 2700 national education institutions, throughout the country, via intranet networks linked by satellite capacities delivered by Algerian satellite ALCOMSAT1.
The implementation of this programme will enable, in the one hand, to deploy remote consulting solutions, in a bid to benefit from the medical expertise, today concentrated in urban areas, and the solutions of hospital pharmacies management for a better availability of medicines at the local scale. The consequences will be particularly tangible in the less populated areas. On the other hand, the implementation of this program will allow the education sector to make the most of distance learning solutions, and to generalize the applications mainly of the management of human resources and children school records.
