The Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies conduct startup tours
in regions with the view of providing support to the expansion of the startup movement
and the implementation of new innovative ideas of citizens. The tours are organized
within the project "From Idea to Business" jointly with the Ministry of Transport,
Communications and High Technologies, the Regional Development Public Union of
Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijan Youth Foundation, the United Nations
Development Program and Microsoft to support the expansion of startup ecosystem
and the realization of citizens’ innovative ideas.
Main goal of the project is developing sustainable ICT environment for all ecosystem
participants. "I2B - Idea to Business" unite all high tech parks, incubation centers, also
individual players for present and future steps.
At 2018 tours were held in more than eight regional cities and covering surrounding
areas, more than 2000 thousand participants. 75 team formed and the winners were
determined. This project create enormous opportunities for the youth in regions for the
development, discussion and presentation of business projects. Winners and chosen
teams will represent their startups at the Bakutel 2018 (https://bakutel.az) , the 24th
Azerbaijan International Telecommunications, Innovations and High Technologies
Exhibition and Conference will be held in Baku from the 4th to the 7th of December.
Government and stakeholders provide opportunities for Startups to bringing together
with investors as well as sending successful projects to abroad and participate in
international events. At the 18th of December winners of the 2018 and other startups will
attend WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) event in Geneva.

The public-private partnership ensures the sustainability of the project. The continuation of the project has already been approved and new targets for 2019 are being discussed.
