Multi Approach Digital Literacy Program


A set of program with varied content and coverage to strengthen the digital literacy in Indonesia

Description

Sustainable Digital Literacy Program is a solution from the Center for Digital Society to respond to the current problem of digital literacy gap in Indonesia. Up until this day, we have done numerous activities that include public event, engaging awareness through essay competition, as well delivering two-month intensive course to produce more digital talents in Indonesia. The result of our programs cannot be seen directly whereby we aim to empower and facilitate the human resource in Indonesia to develop their mindset and skills in utilizing digital technology for productivity in everyday life in a positive way. In number, our series of activities has reached more than 1000 audiences or participants and we are aiming to improve the number as well as to ensure that the result of this program can lead to something bigger and applicable in realizing the potential of digital Indonesia.

Replicability

Much of our sustainable digital literacy program does not require specific social condition, academic certification nor scientific tools. Therefore, we believe our sustainable digital literacy program can be replicated in other part of the world with some adjustments to ensure that the program will be run effectively and accordingly with the expected outome.

Most of the activities in this program are run through digital environment and thus, we are aiming to leave the carbon footprint as minimum as possible.


WSIS values promotion

We see that our project can help to address the problem of digital literacy gap in Indonesia by providing a learning place and experience. Then, we believe that the aforementioned program is in line with one of the principles of WSIS in building the information society, which is to provide opportunity for everyone to obtain needed skills and knowledge in order to enjoy and compete in the information society.
