#AnimateAlasTIC

Encouraging women and girls in ICTs

Description

With the #AnimateAlasTIC campaign we are trying to transmit a new aspect of ENACOM: we took an active role in the diffusion of different concrete actions and initiatives that promote an equitable and inclusive use of new technologies and that, taking into consideration the current gender digital divide, tend to bridge it in order to assure that women get the same opportunities in the access to entrepreneurships and job posts in the ICTs environment.
To actively work on gender equality we designed a communicational strategy that shows the ICTs world from a new perspective, that integrates them to different jobs. For that we searched for real cases of women that occupy leadership roles to tell their stories, experiences and vision on the need of having more women in tech.

WSIS values promotion

The #AnimateAlasTIC campaign is our starting point to contribute to change reality: generating more participation of women in ICTs will allow them to get better jobs with better salaries. The active role assumed by ENACOM seeks to bridge that gender digital divide but, to achieve that, there’s a determinant need to work in a multistakeholder model with civil society, private sector and academia, since no problem is solved without having a transversal focus. Joining efforts will accelerate the process by sharing learnt experiences and best practices in this matter.
