Moscow Longevity


Description

Moscow Longevity project was launched on March 1, 2018.This is a new lifestyle for Moscow pensioners, who, thanks to the Moscow Longevity project (hereinafter referred to as the Project), have discovered new talents, made new friends, and gained new opportunities for creativity and self-realization.
Project Objectives:
- involvement of older citizens and their socialization;
- fight against loneliness;
- maintaining psychological and physical health
The main objectives of the project are:
- expanding the positive perception of the possibilities of organizing life at an older age;
- promoting an active lifestyle for older people;
- the formation of a recognizable Moscow standard of active lifestyle for citizens of the older generation;
- creating a uniformly distributed network of free active leisure;
- involvement of older citizens in the social life of the city;
- increasing older citizens' satisfaction with the urban environment;
- promoting the growth of life expectancy and quality of life of older Muscovites;
- stimulation of private business to develop similar programs.
The implementation of the project is carried out for citizens who live in Moscow, have reached the age of 55 years old (women) and 60 years old (men), or who are recipients of an early old-age insurance pension or old-age pension regardless of their age.
The program of the Moscow Longevity project is structured in such a way that all areas of the basic package of classes are available in every district of Moscow, within walking distance for senior citizens.
Over 2 years, more than 300 thousand citizens took part in the Project; currently, more than 181 thousand participants are participating on an ongoing basis.
Project participants can attend free classes in several areas (information technology, English, general physical training, dancing, fitness and fitness equipment, gymnastics, Nordic walking, arts and crafts, singing, drawing, chess and checkers, a healthy life lecture series).
