Women In Tech Maldives (Women in Tech mv) is a non-profit organisation working to inspire, empower and celebrate women in Science and Technology. We aim to accelerate the growth of women in science and technology by creating opportunities that foster innovation and build the community. In the two years it has been since our establishment we have been able to make a difference in the Maldivian Science and Tech sphere. Our members are representatives at various state level advisory boards and we have got the government and the private sector to take Tech as an upcoming and vital industry. We have also been successful in getting various women working in the Science and Tech industry to the forefront, empower them to stand up for injustices at the workplace and got them the credibility and recognition they deserve.

The programs run during last year are all meant to be repeated once a year. But all plans are on hold due to the COVID19 pandemic. Currently we run a fortnightly program "Wednesday's With Womenintechmv" where we aim to provide awareness and also give information on various topics ranging from Internet Security, Marketing and Branding, No-Code practices, etc. We are also exploring ways to conduct the Girls to Code program later in the year.

Women In Tech Maldives is the first of its kind in the Maldives, where we advocate for the women working in the Science and Tech area as well as work to educate and inspire more women to join a male dominated industry. We are also one of the most active STEM/ tech based NGOs in the Maldives. Django Girls Male was held for the first time in Maldives this year in January. This was initiated and organized by Women In Tech MV. STEM Fest 2019 was the first of its kind platform for Maldivian STEM startups to showcase their innovations and skills.
