The Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) is committed to ensure the growth of human
resources for health by leading the advancement of medical professions to ensure excellence in
healthcare. The OMSB is focused on training the physicians (medical residents and fellows) on the
best and advanced technologies to prepare them in improving the healthcare and patient
satisfaction. One of the Human Resource Development tools applied in our organization is Tebyan,
the National E-learning Platform for Health, which was one of the strategic projects that was launched
three years back.

The mission of the Oman Medical Specialty Board is to maintain and improve the quality of
medical care throughout the Sultanate of Oman. This can be achieved by developing and
maintaining postgraduate medical specialty education and setting the professional and
educational standards for the training and certification of medical and health professionals.
OMSB will strive to educate the next generation of leaders in medicine and lead with compassion,
creativity, flexibility and steadfastness to meet the challenges of the new century and to fulfill
our destiny of service and quality.
Therefore, the OMSB has been adopting different advanced technologies to serve the
beneficiaries beside the e-learning platform like:
- 3D printing machine to produce educational materials like bones and soft tissue.
- Immersive room to imitate the real situations like hospital and other scenes.
- 3D virtual simulator to simulate eye surgeries, arthroscope and laparoscopy.
- High Fidelity Mannequins used to train student in rescuing patients.
- Virtual simulation workshops

OMSB vision is to achieve excellence in postgraduate medical education, training, assessment and accreditation throughout the Sultanate of Oman. This will improve the knowledge, skills, and experience of the medical and health care professionals.
