The Center for Digitization and Documentation of Heritage and Arts in Setif (CDDHA) is a project that aims to create a digital platform and a smartphone app that can preserve and promote the cultural heritage and arts of Setif in the metaverse. The project’s objectives are to document the heritage and arts of Setif digitally in the virtual world, to digitize them in two- and three-dimensional formats, and to obtain certificates of ownership in the virtual world with tradable crypto assets (NFT's). The project’s results include a digital platform with a specialized search engine and a digital section to display the documented heritage and arts, a smartphone app with a similar functionality, and a web browser plugin (ai search assistant) that can access the platform and app. The project’s impact is to enhance the protection and conservation of the cultural heritage and arts of Setif, to increase the awareness and education of the users, and to foster the participation and empowerment of the local people and communities.

Based on the project idea, I think this project has the potential to be replicable, as it aims to create a digital platform and a smartphone app that can be accessed and used by anyone interested in the cultural heritage and arts of Setif.

Environmental sustainability: this project could contribute to the protection and conservation of the natural and cultural resources of Setif, as well as the reduction of the environmental impact of the digitization and documentation processes, by using green and renewable technologies and practices.

Human rights: this project could respect and uphold the right to freedom of opinion and expression, as well as the right to access and enjoy the cultural heritage and arts of Setif, for everyone, regardless of frontiers. Democracy: this project could foster the participation and empowerment of the local people and communities in the decision-making and implementation of this project, as well as in the preservation and promotion of their cultural heritage and arts. Good governance: this project could enhance the transparency, accountability, and efficiency of the cultural heritage institutions, organizations, and authorities, as well as the collaboration and coordination among them, through the use of digital technologies and tools. Cultural diversity: this project could celebrate and showcase the rich and diverse cultural heritage and arts of Setif, as well as the history and identity of the people and society, in the metaverse and beyond. Gender equality: this project could ensure the equal opportunities and benefits for women and men, as well as the recognition and inclusion of the contributions and perspectives of women and girls, in the digitization and documentation of the cultural heritage and arts of Setif.
