Universities Smart Services Single Window

Single Window Focusing on Providing Academic Smart E-Service for All

Description

The project is titled " Unified Universities Smart Services Window " with the aim of creating a suitable platform for providing smart higher education services to its main audience, including students, faculty members, graduates, knowledge-based companies, etc.
The first service offered in this project is the "Single Sign-On" service.

In the second stage, a list of service providers in the higher education sector of the country has been designed. In this list, service providers are categorized into central and university-based institutions. Central service providers include the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, along with its affiliated organizations. University-based service providers include government universities affiliated with the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, universities affiliated with other government executive bodies, private universities, science and technology parks, and more.

In the third phase, centralized and university-based software systems that provide electronic services to their audience have been connected to the Unified Intelligent University Services Window system. More than 450 systems belonging to over 250 service providers have been connected, enabling unified access for users.

In the fourth and final stage, the list of services that can be provided is prepared and revised. In carrying out the review, the three sub-processes of requesting, performing, and delivering the service are reviewed and redesigned, and service intelligence is implemented in such a way that the predictability of service delivery is based on the history of the contacts' requests or the available information file from their educational and research records and analysis. It will be possible for them to benefit from the services in the future. This phase is being implemented and will be completed within the next year.

Replicability

The project's replicability is feasible on two levels. In the architectural layer, the project's architectural design and subsystem list can serve as an architectural pattern for other national projects within the country. These projects are designed and implemented based on upstream documents, aligning with the provision of government smart services. In the application layer, replicability signifies that this system will function as a key sub-system within a national system titled the "National Platform of Smart Higher Education Services

Sustainability

Smart services are provided to users through two methods based on the project's designs and financial model. In the first approach, services are offered to users for free, contingent upon the nature of the service or the service response time. In the second approach, services are provided with a user fee. Non-free services may involve expert reviews or free services that users wish to receive more quickly than the standard response time.
The income generated from providing services to users is anticipated to cover the development and support costs of the system in the future.

WSIS values promotion

Our project represents a pioneering national initiative that is reshaping higher education services for the entire academic community, encompassing students, graduates, and faculty members. Although the project is developed according to our national development plan, our project promotes key WSIS values. Our commitment to inclusivity is evident in the introduction of a one-time login (single-sign-on) feature, ensuring a seamless and secure entry for users with diverse technological backgrounds. This user-friendly interface serves to uphold the WSIS value of "universal access," making higher education services easily accessible to a broad audience. To address the WSIS value of "diversity," our project goes beyond physical boundaries by facilitating remote accessibility. This feature allows users to engage with higher education services from any location, breaking geographical constraints and expanding access to a wider audience. Moreover, our project aligns with the WSIS focus on "capacity building" by providing customization options and tailored services to meet the specific needs of different user groups. Students, graduates, and faculty members can access relevant and personalized information effortlessly, contributing to capacity building within the academic community. Our project aims to be a catalyst for digital inclusion, contributing to the enhancement of higher education services nationally which have been promoted in WSIS documents.
