The objective of the South School on Internet Governance is to train professionals in the Americas free of charge on Internet-related issues in order to promote their participation in spaces where rules, regulations and other standards related to the Internet are defined. The South School on Internet Governance awards scholarships to all its participants, which since its inception in 2009 have awarded scholarships with a complete gender balance. (50% women 50% men).The main objective of the school is to train the new and new leaders of Internet governance in Latin America. In its 11 consecutive editions, it has already awarded more than 4000 scholarship recipients, many of whom today have already been actively involved in leading different Internet activities. The South School on Internet Governance rotates between countries to encourage the participation of different communities. It has simultaneous translation in all its editions during the five days of the training. It is also transmitted in a virtual way through social networks, allowing the participation of thousands of people from many countries.
