The WTDC is a process leading to decision-making for the strategies and objectives of development of telecommunications/ICT at the international level. The Network of Women (NOW) for the telecommunication development sector aims to encourage gender balance at every opportunity in the activities leading up to the WTDC-21 conference. The main objectives of this network are as follows: - Provide role models for new women to the ICT /ITU-D sector.- Provide a platform for exchange of information between new and experienced delegates from the Arab region.- Provide advice and support from Arab women who have successfully ascended to leadership positions.- Offer a neutral platform for gender diversity in ICT.

This project is replicable in the 6 ITU regions: Europe, Africa, Americas, Asia pacific, CIS and Arab states.The NoW4WTDC Advisory Board, comprising members from all the six ITU regions, will facilitate close collaboration of the regional chapters of the network and promote synergies among the respective activities.
This project is established to provide strategic guidance to the BDT Director in order to ensure success of the network. It is supported by the ITU Development Sector on International level, the ITU Arab Office on the regional level and the ITU-D members on national levels.
This project is to encourage gender balance in the activities leading up to the World Telecommunication Development Conference, WTDC. It promotes equality, solidarity and shared responsibility. These values will be made clear in all activities planed and in all communications and promotional material like fliers and briefs.
